Pastello

We had a good time together as we do every year.
This year's theme was Tourou. It's a lantern, but it moves like a merry-go-round! It's good on a
summer night!

  This is Dale's famous  hamburger!
Kids who join the Pastello events can eat it for lunch.
It's really popular for kids! They usually eat 2-3 hamburgers. Wow!

        Have a good summer!

        See you next year!

Since many people enjoy holiday time from work and school during the week spanning from the end of April to early May, many leisure-based industries experienced spikes in their revenues. The film industry was no exception.
In 1951, the film Jiyū Gakkō recorded higher ticket sales during this holiday week than any other time in the year (including New Year's and Obon). This prompted the managing director of Daiei Film Co., Ltd. to dub the week "Golden Week" based on the Japanese radio lingo “Golden Time,” which denotes a period with the highest listener ratings.

Sumo

Endo !

I went to Ryogokukokugikan to watch Sumo for the first time.
It was very very exciting and fun! Though I'm not interested in Sumo, but watching it live is really good!
I sat in a "box seat" for four people.  It was near the Sumo ring and we could see well.
This is Shota Endo. He was promoted very quickly. So his hair

is not long enough to be tied and still doesn't have a special "Sumo"name yet.

Can you find Yonesuke the comedian??

                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                            He couldn't win this time.
But many people cheered for him!
Yumitorishiki

This is the closing ceremony at the end of the Sumo tournament.
Sumo is one of Japan's national sports and important cultural traditions.
This is the first time for me to see live Sumo in Tokyo and experience an ancient Japanese cultural event. One of many traditional cultures of Japan. Wonderful!
I wish for Sumo continue forever.

"Ochayasan" is guide at the Sumo tournament  and brings tea, lunch box and beer to the box  seat. Yakitori was good!
Finally, they brought Japanese teacups and sweets for souvenirs.
I had a dream like time and time past very quickly.
If I have a chance, I want to go again!
